hi all. i built my first studio with info and help from this board... its been a while and i am at it again. i am in the process of purchasing a studio that is nearly complete. plans attached. details as follows: double "hebel brick" walls with 300mm air gap. internal wall lined with 2x sheets soundcheck plasterboard. the building is on a large block - 6000sqm - in a country/ residential area. closest neighbours are 50m. there is a main rd 20m away, and a rail line beyond that. to clarify the attached plans - the live room is labelled "home recording studio" and has the angled cieling over it. the control room is labelled "home theatre" and has 2.6m ceilings as does the rest of the building. there is a booth that has been added since the original plans as drawn in roughly by me. the room labelled "store" could be another booth - although currently used as a living area the "entertaining area" is fitted out as lounge and kitchen. the slab in the control room area is sunken, to allow for floorboards to be installed (already onsite and part of the purchase) i would intend to run a professional studio from here, so need to make essentially any noise at any time. ie: there may be a drum kit playing at 2am. most of the work is completed. what remains is the inner wall of the live room, and most of the fit out (glass/ doors/ powerpoints floors etc) my questions: 1 - does anyone see any problems with the general dimensions of the rooms? are the booths too small? is the live room big enough? 2 - when building the inner wall of the live room - should i build angles, or do this later with corner absorbers etc. i know this has been discussed at some points, but the jury is still out... 3 - the floors are currently polyurithane coated concrete - how is this for a professional studio? do i really need to lay wood (i would lay wood in the control room as it is set up to do so) 4 - would a budget of 25 thousand AU$ be reasonable to complete the fit out to a pro level (including acoustic treatment) i appreciate anyones comments and concerns thanks in advance
