Aloha and welcome to the forum! :D
Congrats on your studio build!
Any chance you could please:
Also, please keep pics down to about 700 pixels wide to eliminate having to scroll. You'll probably get more of a response by doing so and this will really come in handy two or three posts down the road. It's also part of the forum guidelines. Thanks! For more info, check out both of these links - http://www.johnlsayers.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=7572 http://www.johnlsayers.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3231 Looking forward to your build! Aloha 8) Perhaps a little reading might help - http://www.saecollege.de/reference_material/index.html (Be sure to click on the "acoustics" and "absorbers" tabs on the left and those that show up on the top) DIY Wall Units - http://www.johnlsayers.com/HR/index1.htmEdit your profile to include your location. This is very important, because this is a worldwide resource, and as such, material costs and availability vary widely. For example, masonry is cheaper than gypsum in some parts of the globe, whereas it's the exact opposite in other regions.
thank you!!
Sorry if I have post it before taking in consideration the foundations rules of the forum.
Aloha,
Thanks for editing your profile.
Any chance you could post your skp file?
Aloha 8)
maybe something like this?
Aloha,
Mmm, that's nice!
Aloha 8)
sorry if I neglected the topic of my studio but I am trying to read the most possible present information in the forum, tanks to all however for the aid.
I hope to resume the first possible the thread to speak about my study construction!!
Gullfo tank you very much, nice design,I want to remember that for me it is essential to record also a drumset. In your design which would be a both room?Do you think that I can take a drum into the both?
Good day to all and thanks still, your aid is my future!!
Here the Sketchup file!!The Attachment is too big, take it from yousendit!

Hello,I'm here to ask another aid...sorry :(
I have need to know the amount of the material to buy,but it is necessary for me to know the plan and also the finally disposition of the room.I will have to buy the wood for the structures, the insulation and the chalk sheets, beyond to packings in rubber and plastic sheets.
I ask you this because with the exception of you, I am not able to execute the calculations, therefore m' he would interest to know like dividing the rooms to obtaining the best performances and like arranging the material in the rooms,I have seen the DIY Wall Units and have decided to entrust me to that one,but the dimensions are not proportion to my case, therefore it is difficult to calculate the differences, for the floor I use the sample on http://www.saecollege.de/reference_material/index.html but i'm not sure if the sample is good for my case.
I'm so sorry for my english but is the only way for me,your aid is my only salvation,I got 24 years and I cannot engage a specialized company, here in Italy cost to much, therefore with some sweat and a your precious aid I hope to succeed to execute all the necessary jobs to complete my studio.
Please help me.
Thank you very much,i hope that someone understand my very poor english!!
Here some pictures of the room and the exact dimensions.
Viewed 28 times and nobody say something...
its friday, some folks are at work, or have family, or are otherwise occupied...
as far as estimates - since you're going to (hopefully) use fairly normal construction techniques, its easy enough to put together a spreadsheet to calculate 3 of studs, plates, nailers, trim, drywall, wires, lights, ducting, conduit, etc... as needed to frame, wire, finish, etc. include caulk, nails, insulation etc... based on square area - walls, floor, ceiling etc. as needed.
Hey gullfo , has anyone made a checklist of standard parts and such? That would be really useful....you know---studs---check----caulking---check----new monitors---(next year:)
checklist? gotta get Rod's book... :-)
maybe this layout works better?
hey gullfo thank you very much but i can't see the image, please re-post it because there is some upload problem.
Thank you.
Have a good day.
Here's the .skp file - it's not too large if you
Window/model info/statistics/purge all
cheers
john
Hey thank you John!
Not only for the .skp upload, above all for all the things that I am learning!!
Thanks a lot,
Good evening.
I'd keep the kitchen so you can make beautiful Italian coffee and retain your outdoor access with the sliding door. :)
cheers
john
Hello to all, you excuse me but the job does not allow me to follow the forum, i want to thank all for the aid, much kind.
John for all the things that I am learning for merit yours I would have to bring it the coffee directly to your home... the problem is that it becomes cold too much!Eheh...
Ok now I'm serious!
I still have some problems on the decision of the measures, for me would be fundamental however to close the two windows to the inside, in the design of John this has not been made, therefore I presume that the measures are various...i make some mistake? :D
You could supply me of the real measures and the exactly degrade? The angles design by Jhon are those to use? I ask you this because I want to begin to buy the material... for me is fundamental to know the just measures.
Still a question...I have said that I'm not able to make the calculations. How can I know the frequencies to attenuate by using the HELMHOLZ calculator(for bass trap construction)?I understood like using the calculator, but I do not know the frequencies that will have to attenuate. You excuse my ignorance!!
Sorry!
Here the picture of my brain delirium!
ok I ask too much...it's not good...
I will try to inquire myself most possible...so as to be self-sufficient. Thanks all for the aid.
in some cases the treatments are broadband, in other case, you'll want to measure the room response after its built and create treatments to adjust it. there are numerous references here to help you calculate the myrid of things that will help you construct it and adjust it.
