i'm exploring some options for laying out my little studio. i plan to start construction in a couple of weeks..
as far as i can see this would be a good option.
there is one problem though, i need some line of sight into the booth to communicate with the performer. as far as understand the window in my design is gonna be where a hemholtz resonator like solution is ideally placed.
i was thinking about placing a window of 3x1 feet upright to minimize the width of the window and so it does not disturb the acoustics in the room too much. does anyone see any other solutions? i attached a drawing, to give an idea of the usable space.
Thanks a lot!

yes - you can add a window there.
Here's a pic of how it is done.

johnthanks john, what if i put in the windows in an upright position and make it narrower but longer lets say 1 ft wide x 4ft high? the fact that is to the left of the mixing position isn't a problem at all?
double them up - one angled on the side wall of the CR and one on the booth side. this preserves the angles on the CR side and adds additional isolation space between windows.
that sounds like a good solution, can i treat the area around it like a regular hemholtz resonator type thing, or should it be just general broadband 703 absorbtion. what about the wall on the other side?
yes - the rest can be a resonator - the important part is getting the seal correct, hence the picture I posted.
Thanks all, i studied the whole double window construction thing, i keep that in mind when i get tot he construction phase.
