What do you think? Bass trap/wall (Rendering incl)

The idea is to build a wall of semi circles using this semi circle pipe insulation glued to MDF backing. It should wind up looking like a ASC Attack wall to some extent. See image:

This is the material I would use. http://www.intelligentinsulation.com/pdfs/IIG-401.pdf I'm thinking I could vary the sizes and cover the whole thing with burlap with some wood strips in between each bump to secure the fabric as well as look cool 8) It will be used behind the monitors in front of the mix position in a small room (only 8' across. GRRR! but 20' long). Also do you think I should seal the ends of each semi circle cavity or let the air flow? Do you think it would work? Any thoughts?

I don't see an advantage to a wall of absorbers unless you're trying to make a dead sounding mixing area within a very large space. The more usual method is to treat the corners with bass traps, and treat the first reflection points on the side walls and ceiling.

That will work, but only if the diameter is suitably large, like 20 inches or more. You'll definitely want flat panels for first reflections.

No, sealing is not necessary. --Ethan
So do you think this would be better on the back wall? I always thought the wall in front should absorb mids and highs and the wall behind should kill some bass energy but diffuse mids and highs to keep the room lively. I have such an odd room. I can't cover the doors to the left and right due to one being the water pump room and the other being the storage/vocal booth. The doors are so close to the front wall that mounting angled bass traps is not convenient. Then there is the closet to the left and a large utility room to the right. I can't use the back side of the room because that is where the stairs leading up to the first floor are. I have tested my monitors on the sides of the room but the sound and mixes were horrible. My mixes are coming out pretty good at this position right now but could use some improvement that I feel only acoustics can solve. Any other suggestions? Obviously I have allot to learn. Thanks for your input.
Aloha, Do you have a Sketchup file/floor plan of your room so we can see what you have to work with? By the way, where are you located? This info will be helpful in suggesting building products as well as it is part of the forum rules. If you would please update your profile, that would be great. Thanks! Aloha 8)
