Hello, I could use some tips for my drum room.
I have a professionally built drum booth, but I want to make use of a practice room I have at my facility to get a more ambient drum sound.
I just purchased 7 48" 24" ATS acoustic panels and need help placing them.
I have allready built one coner baffle and will build one more.
The other coners have doorways in them, so if you have any suggestions please chime in.
The dimmensions are:
31' by 10' 9"
The ceiling is 6' 8" (No pro basketball players allowed!).
The floor is industrial carpet, the ceiling is drop tile with insulation under it.
This is to be a "semi-permanant" solution.
Its my dad's building and when he sells the place I move out.
Hopefully I can keep as much treatment as possible.
I've included a 3 D rendering.
Thanks for your time!
Matt

with the panels you have, i'd put a couple over the drum kit as clouds and then place the rest on the walls - about 8' apart and alternating between walls so you're breaking up flutter echos. you may still find you need more but i'd start with that. also, the corners should be trapped as much as possible to get the bass nice and tight. by corners, this can be ceiling-wall and floor-wall corners. also check the real traps site for some suggestions on placements.
