Laying out a Studio

Hello there I am curently turning my unfinished garage into a studio. I just finised building the sub floor, and was looking for advice in how to layout my studio. The dimensions of my area are 16x24x8. my first thought was to cut the room in half with a wall making 2 rooms 16x12x8 having one room for a live room and one room for a control room. I would also like to incorperate an isolation booth some were in the control room. Thank you Alan

you could do a search here for some of John's designs which include several for converting a garage. if you're just looking to split the space, you can just put up a wall keeping in mind the need for sizing things correctly and not just dividing it evenly. some of that will depend on your equipment, requirements for recording different types of music, budget, skills, etc. like in the read me before posting stickie.
