Hi there do it yourself studio builders. I have been working day and night to finish my studio. If I knew it would take this long, I would have started it before I built my wife a barn this summer. Any how, I still have a little bit of flutter and I know that it's from the ceiling. I was only able to angle the ceiling in the control room ( actually I got lazy) So I am wondering if anyone has any advice on building clouds ? Do those panels that Ethan Winer sells work or are there better alternatives ? The concept of broad band absorption sounds good. I have included bass traps in the corners and some neat angled walls ( mostly panel resonators ) The clouds should be the final touch. Thanks in advance Eric
Hey thanks, that's exactly what I was looking for Eric
I just made one. I had a 2'x4' piece of mineral wool leftover from my gobo so I decided to wrap it in cloth, and "float" it. I ended up putting a 1/4" plywood backing on it to make it more rigid with some eye screws to hang. It seems to work well, but I really have nothing to compare it too. One thing to add though... This 4" mineral wool that I used is ALOT heavier than I thought is was going to be. That cloud I just described probably weighs 25#, not to mention the gobo has got to be 150-200#. Ron
