NEW STUDIO!; opinions and costs, who can help!!

Hi Everybody, I used this forum and website for my current studio; all i can say is: THIS WEBSITE is AWESOME, JOHN is AWESOME, INTERNET is AWESOME! Well, I am starting a new (second) studio and mainly i have some questions about the costs... Me and my compagnon are starting a new company in 2008, here in Amsterdam, Holland. At the moment we are looking for a location (650 - 750 M²) to start a big (two control rooms and a recording room) studio and several proffesional rehearsal rooms. As you can see in my drawing below we want to have a recording room of 62M², a control room of 30M², a control/mix/production/mastering room of 52M², 8 rehearsal rooms (this is our planning but there are just 7 in the drawing), a live stage and a bar (both not heavily used, lets say 5 times a month. The rest of the time it is just a chill out area!) and a sleeping area (so bands or musicians, who are recording, can stay over). Mainly my question in this topic is what you guys think about the main costs of the isolated areas. Below you can see my calculations in M² (metric) and I am really curious what it will costs to let people build this (and ofcourse try to do as much as I can myself). Ofcourse we want to do it proffesional but the rehearsal rooms don't have to be high standard isolated, just medium sound proof will do! My calculations: Total calculation isolated areas: Total M² isolated walls: 8 Rehearsal rooms:1200 M² (rehearsal rooms don't have to be high standard isolated) 2 Control rooms:316 M² 1 Recording room:272 M² 1 Sleeping area: 157 M² Extra: 150 M² Total = 2095 M²of isolated walls Doors in isolated areas: Isolated: 15 Normal: 10 Boothdoors (medium isolated): 6 We have a good financial plan, but still we hope we can build this (only issolation material and construction) for something between €55.000 and 80.000 euro. So, Mainly my questions for now are: What do you guyes think this will cost us? Material (and man-hours...)? And is our financial goal possible? Hope to hear from you, Frans PS: This drawing is just a first basic sketch I made, so alot of things are going to change, but atleast you will have an idea of what our company will 'look' like!

i'm not sure the budget you have is enough for this elaborate a type of facility but you'd need to work out a materials and labor list to get closer to what it might cost you. i think on the US side you could easily spend $100 a square foot. as far as design, i think i'd move the bulk of rest rooms to someplace more central to the rehearsal/stage area and maybe a small bathroom near the control room. put another small bathroom w/ shower near the sleep quarters. probably between the rehearsal room and the sleep area in case someone wants to sleep late :-) you might also consider taking the second control room and facing that onto a "reheasal" room so you could have two live/cr room combinations.
