Hey I'm using 1/2 inch and 3/4 Rubber Mats to help kill sound from a studio downstairs. I'm planing on putting a floating laminate floor on top.
Has anyone done this and have any tips?
Also what should I us to fill in the gaps between the rubber?

Hai Emax,
Welcome to this wonderful resource. Speaking of which... have you fully exploit this forum? Judging your question it seems like you didn't. There's some Sticky threads (the one on top of the forum subpart index pages) which are more than worth checking out. Then, when yer done, thing about your situation and post yer (prolly adjusted) plans/questions again.
have fun!
Welcome to the forum, Ed.
I'm short on time (as usual), so here's the scoop......
The "Before You Post" announcement -- study it. Follow all the guidelines set forth in it. There will be a quiz. ;-)
You've thought of a recipe and are asking for a tip on which spice to add... But you haven't proven that you're cooking the right type of meal for the occasion.
Even without knowing the details, I know for a fact that what you're proposing is wrong.
Without knowing any of the details, we have no idea what to propose in its place.
"A studio" -- whose? What noise levels? What's the existing construction in exhaustive detail?
We want to help, but you have to be willing to invest a good amount of time too learn all you can. We can help with details and keep you on track, but we can't do all your heavy lifting for you.
"Mass air mass." If you don't know exactly what I mean by that, then you need to keep studying. :-)
