Hey guys, new to the forum but im glad to be here. Im always around reading trying to learn. Im 20 years old, from london and i'm a recording/mixing engineer with a nice bit of success behind me. Family friends around me include Jimmy the "mixologist" and john themis, plus my dads been a working musician all his life. I've had a studio in my room for years, i moved out into my own premises, which was robbed...while i was inside the room so you can imagine the scenario. Anyway, a year later iv managed to get some equipment together but need some space to work in. So im going to build something in my garden soon. I have about 20x22 feet to build on ...MAX. Planning rights etc are all ok...we had a room back there before but took it down years ago. I have a budget of around 10k. I want the room to allow me to play music at night (reasonable level) without upsetting neighbours. It needs to have a vocal booth big enough for 2 people...and thats basically my starting point. Im doing a lot of reading on here but i cant tell whats right for me.... Will i need a floating floor? Should i make my booth out of wood once the rooms build or incorporate it into the building itself ie breeze blocks etc What type of air con can i use? etc It all comes down to my budget which as i said is around £10k. Labour is taken care of as its family doing most of the building.... Am i dreaming? Can it be done? Any advice is appreciated, im doing a lot of research but small tips here and there would really help. Thanks in advance
