Hello everyone, Eric Here, I posted some questions a while back about a basement studio a friend and I are building. I've run into another question I was hoping someone could clarify. First, here's the link to my original post, though things have changed A LOT since then: http://www.johnlsayers.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=5587&highlight=solow Sorry, I know the pics don't work anymore. I'll change that soon when I update all of the current progress. It's all coming along quite nice. In any case, I'm trying to build some front wall bass traps very similar to Kendale's Studio as seen at his post: http://www.johnlsayers.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=4091&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=slot+resonator+wall&start=0 What I'd like to know is what material is going to work best to line the walls of the base traps with (mineral wool, rock wool, and like 3 other choices I've seen mentioned). At this point I'm planning to use 2" OC 703 using the basic design I've seen posted on various other posts - which is this: I've tried to read up a lot, but haven't found any solid answers. I plan to hang some slats as well so if I should use something different for those also please let me know. Here are a few pics of the front wall so far:

Thank you in advance for any help/advice.
Aloha Eric, Congrats on your studio build progress!

From what I've read here on this forum "what works best" may depend on what is available in your area and what your budget allows. OC 703 will work just fine for both the front wall bass traps and the slat absorbers, as well as the other similarly spec'd alternatives mentioned. Be sure to take the necessary precautions when installing - long sleeves, gloves, a dust mask and eye protection ought to minimize the itch. Looking forward to more progress & pics. Aloha 8)
Warren in Kansas has just finished his front. - very nice. cheers john
