Here's where I'm at so far. The building is 30' X 30' on a concrete slab. As of right now everything is pretty generic. I'm still trying to figure out the whole ceiling / roof concept. If anyone has any details that would be great. Right now the rooms have walls 8' tall. Should they be taller? Once I figure out the basic construction (walls, ceiling, roof, etc.) I'll need to figure out how to heat and cool the place. Oh and for a hot water heater, most likely it'll be in the bathroom in the outer most corner (bottom left). Also, any suggestions on acoustic treatment locations and types are gladly accepted. Don't hold back, if you think the design sucks at least state why. Thanks!

Aloha and welcome to the forum! :D
Congrats on your studio build! Any chance you could please:
You'll probably get more of a response by doing so and this will really come in handy two or three posts down the road. It's also part of the forum guidelines. Thanks! Also, when posting pics, please keep them down to about 700 pixels wide in order to avoid having to scroll back & forth. For example, masonry is cheaper than gypsum in some parts of the globe, whereas it's the exact opposite in other regions.
ok, updated my profile.
One problem that caught my eye was the rear of the control room that features a 90 degree corner. You will probably experience lots of buildup in that corner unless you plan to put a bass trap there. The same goes for the live room.
Just my two n00b cents...
yeah, i'm definately new to designing a studio. i've been learning along the way. i figured the corners with 90 degrees or sharper should probably have some bass traps there. other wall treatments.. well i pretty much don't have a clue about, nor will i pretend to. another thing, i'm not too sure how large to make the bass traps.
the corners are opportunities to put in some nice broadband trapping to get the room modes under control. I'd make the traps as large as necessary to get the low end nice and tight. the back corner of the CR is a good spot for a large trap. same for the live room plus some longer slat resonators on the "smaller" corners. iso room the same. overhead, if you have the space in the CR - a false ceiling with trapping to give your a reflection free zone. on top of the rear CR trap - diffusion to keep things alive without strong reflections. same for live room - and add some changeable absorber/reflector-diffusers along the walls so you can alter the room characteristics as needed.
here's a corner control room design. Note the second set of slots in the rear of the room .
cheers
