Hello,
I'm interested in renovating the edit suite at our hq in Hong Kong. The room is quite small and covered in 'egg-crate' foam. I'd like to build a bass trap in the concrete corner of the room that used to be a closet, but i don't know how big the trap has to be for such a small room... plus, i'd like to fit a crt color correction monitor flush-mounted in the (bass-trap) hole. I'd also like to add a window to the next room for sunlight and to visually monitor talent when recording voice-overs. The floor and ceiling are concrete.
I use Genelec 8030As, Edirol FA66 Interface, MacPro w/FCP. At this stage I don't require anymore gear although a little rack space could be nice when i want to add a pre-amp, etc.
Basically I need to build a bass-trap and window. I'm not building a pro recording studio, just a small video editing suite where the audio will be mastered. (only occasional voice-overs will be recorded here).
I've attached some pics for reference. Measurements are metric.
Any help from anyone would be awesome.
Thanx a bunch!
Jeff
ps: pardon the poorly drawn blueprints. I'm working on a revised blueprint in Google Sketchup... but it's taking a while!

Hai jefflowey,
Nice to see HongKong presented on this forum :)
First: could you RESIZE your pix to max 600x600.
'bout the basstrap, you can do some research in the "acoustics" part of this forum.
The Window: a detailed sketch/image/text of your current room would be needed. Include current wall/ceiling/floor arangementes etc.
BUT! Check the stickies first, as always. Maybe that's already enough for you to have your Q's answered.
