Im concerned about the shape and design. The room is 14ft in width and 15 ft in length with a vaulted ceiling. the inside walls are splayed at 15 degree angles. I plan to use a 1250 sq. ft. warehouse space to have my studio. I'm going to start out with this control room and a room for vocals.
I will be building on a smooth concrete slab. for my floor I'm using Green Plate for the initial frame that will come in direct contact with the pre-existing concrete slab. I will not be floating the floor because their are no neighbors are vibration issues. For my floor I'd like to use Plywood, Pink R-3 Foamular Rigid Foam Insulation, and on the underside attached directly to the frame will be Black Sheathing.
For the inner & outer walls I'd like to use layers in the following order: Black Sheathing, 2"x4"'s,Roxul, OSB T/6, 2 layers of drywall. At the rear of the room there will be bass trapping, absorbers, and diffusers. The side walls will have slot resonators as well. In my set up I'm using Cubase 4, Reason 3.04, Wavelab 6, Focusrite Saffire Interface,Mackie Control Pro, an assortment of mics, millenia TD-1 Pre-Amp,AMD X2 5200+ running XP Pro, Event ASP 8's, and Dual 20" monitors. I strictly record Hip-Hop & R&B vocals and occassionally bring in a guitarists for tracking.
I would really appreciate any and all suggestions that can help complete this concept.
Cool Control Room Design? or Not?

I think your drawing is off or the dimensions you state are off... a 14x15 room would nealy be square and the skp file shows 21x31...
if you check out the stickie on what to post when request help, we'll be more effective...
I think your CR design looks fine. I'd take advantage of the tall ceiling to put in overhead hangers and a false ceiling to direct the sound and create a reflection free zone.
I've been searching the forum for some examples of the false ceilings but there really isn't much I've ran across. in your reply did you mean like using a suspend track type of system filled with those acoustical ceiling tiles? I have many ideas as to how to do this but nothing solid. Could you please elaborate or provide me with an example?I think your CR design looks fine.
