I have been lurking these boards for a while, and seems like there is a fountain of knowledge to draw from. I was wondering, is this PL300 a good alternative to use, in order to avoid using a lot of drywall screws? Can it also work as a good Caulking material? Here is a link to the product...

PL 300 Adhesive

Use drywall screws, period. You want your sheets of drywall to resonate more independently, rather than fused together as basically one thicker sheet. The resonance frequencies of the individual sheets are less pronounced than would be a melded mass of multiple sheets.

Keith is spot on here - so pay attention to him....... Using a construction adhesive to join sheets together will DECREASE your isolation - not increase it. Also - PL400 is an adhesive - not a caulk - and it cannot be used as a caulk. I began working with htis product almost 30 years ago - so I am pretty familiar with it. Believe me when I tell you that the manufacturers kow what they make - so buy caulk when you need caulk - and adhesive when you need adhesive........
