what kind of fabric is mostly used?

one quick question!! what kind of fabric is mostly used for bass absorber panel or used to cover the wall/ceiling?? thank you!

I would think that felt is the most common fabric used - it comes in many colours, stretches easily and has a nice finish. cheers john

doesnt the material have to be "acoustically transparent"? I thought thats why most ppl use more open weave fabrics like burlap or fine cotton? Oz
