Hello all, I live down in the Orlando area and I am looking for some some help getting this going. I have built 3 project studios in various locations in some of the worst spaces you could imagine. So that said, I know the basics, but claim to be no expert. So what I am looking at doing soon is to construct a building on my property in a residential neighorhood. I am considering 20x30. I need a control room, Live room, 2 iso booths, and a small bath. This is going to be a phased project for me, I plan to get it all dried in in phase one. I am thinking 12' cinder block wall an a 4 " slab. So this is a unstarted project on a limited budget, but know some folks that will help out with labor and getting materials. And I have most everything tool wise to do alot myself. Starting with the floor and walls, any thing special, like fill the block cells with sand? is it worth it? My guess for LF it is going to help alot. Thanks alot,
Ok so I read the "read me" before the last post, since I was just asking about foundation and outer wall perimenter I thought I gave enough info for a response. If I am missing something let me know. This is very preliminary. I realy would like to do this right from the start. Thank You
check out Rod Gervais's book on home studio construction and the SAE site (link on top page of John's site) - both will provide many of the answers you have asked and will ask... :)
