im a student and have to design a conversion of a double garage dimensions : 8.7 m deep, 5.8m wide, 4m high at apex of ceiling, 2.5m at sides i've been reading lots of posts and was hoping somebody could suggest some ways i could do this. Part of my problem is the outside structure cannot be changed so initially i was thinkin about designing the studio independendantly from the outer walls. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks
hey, i've just done a similar project, do you have to sound proof treat or both? whats the materiels of the building...
the floor is concrete and the walls are single skin brick with brick piers at the corners. There are two large roller shutters at the front of the garage with a normal size door on the side at the front and one on the rear wall. Basically i have a completely free rein and cost is not an issue since it is a hypathetical situation. i was thinking of constructing the studio space inside the garage and distinct from it as the original structure must be able to be returned to its original state, should the owner get bored or whatever. Its a made up situation and im just looking for opinions on what people would dp with the space if they were in it. cheers
Well for acoustic treatmeant, I have found Ethan Winers web page to be really helpfull. Another site is the SAE college web site, there you will find everything from treatmeant to sound proofing. Hope this helps...[/url]
