I am building my own basement recording studio and need a basic question answered.
What direction should the glass be angled?
Up? or down?
I was recently at a website that sold them and the one pictured for sale was angled up. It seems you would be looking at the ceiling if you were to do that with ceiling lights and all glaring back at you. The one pictured below looks right to me. Both seem like reputable companys.
What do you experts say?

Rod- Thanks so much. BTW I just ordered your book yesterday. I'm very excited to open it.
Thanks for the response.
keep in mind that angled glass doesn't improve sound isolation or quality and actually degrades isolation slightly as the air gap is lessened at the bottom
What!
Angles. The two sheets of glass must be at an angle to each other else the two sheets will interact in a resonate sympathy and the sound reduction properties will be reduced.
lilith, I hate to be the one to tell you - but you really are mistaken.......... There is no acoustic benifit to angling the pieces of glass......... a visual benifit yes - but not acoustic. you gain the maximum isolation when the glass has the maximum air spring......... and that would be woth paralel panes. You handle the sudden drops in TL through utilizing panels with different thicknesses. Sincerely, RodWhat! Angles. actually, i was the one to tell him
