I'm not sure if anyone knows about #2 felt but Steve recommended for me to use it under under my sole/sill plates on my frames. I tried to Google info on this and even called a felt mfg. but no one had heard of it. I did find some felt that was labeled SAE F2 felt.
I was just wondering what properties the felt had that would be more beneficial than regular Sill Seal. Thing is, I can't seem to find any "bonified info" on the product.
I'll be trying to contact Steve to get an answer, but I know he's been REALLY busy and may not be able to get back with me. I've already got my lumber and I'm trying to get the "accessories" I need to build my frames.
Thanx!
#2 Felt or Sill Seal?

Camistan,
He is probably referring to roofing felt, which you can find at most building/home Depot type places...
Thanks for your comments about my studio build...

i been researching this stuff too. i have a post bookmarked on my home computer (i'm at work still hehehe), that i think has more info on this stuff.
i'll check when i get home.
woops. just checked, it was a post about EPDM rubber and neoprene for windows. sorry. good luck!
SillSeal is fine and probably a bit better. I'm pretty sure its purpose is to act as a capillary break and a back-up draftstop.

Yes ,
What Sharward said.
Regular felt would draw / pass moisture.
Definately NOT what you want under wall plates.
