I don't have skethup handy so I couldn't look at your design, but... I think you should read the reference material a bit more.... Quiet Rock isn't highly regarded around here...not that it doesn't work, but it's just not cost effective. For drywall, you really need 2 layers (of at least 1/2" each) to start having the impact of the mass law improving your low frequency transmission loss. think about using green glue or some other constrained layer damper. Determine what your STC/TL requirements are....how much attenutation do you need in other parts of the house? Get a SPL meter and do a site survey...what's the noise you're faced with currently. You'd be amazed at just how loud your neighborhood really is when you've built a quiet room, and noise gets in through a window, because you weren't concerned about that as a transmission path (speaking from experience here). Mass loaded vinyl....see the comments on quiet rock. This stuff has been made obsolete/irrelevant by products like green glue. Budget, well my build has cost me almost $50/ft^2 so far and does not include audio wiring and acoustic treatment. Also, my build was in a basement, so does not include the cost of the foundation, outer walls, and HVAC. cheers Kris
