Whats up people, I'm new to the forum and read the all the rules (I think I got them all...)
Anyways, I have a very small room in my basement that is solid concrete all around except the ceiling. The dimensions of the room are shown in the pictures below, but basically I want to convert this room into my control room/vocal booth. I mainly produce Hip Hop and RnB music, so lots of low end which I know is miserable in a solid concrete room, however this is going to be perfect for isolation.
The pictures below are real life shots of the room as is, and then some SketchUp pics I did that mimic the room exactly (includes the dimensions of room, the pipe lengths and angles, door, desk, speaker stands, etc). The "CR_After" pictures are what I think would be suitable for insulation and construction (please tell me if I'm disturbingly wrong). I've also included the SketchUp files of the before and after drawings so you can tinker with them if you want.
Questions
Question 1:
The entire room is rectangular in shape but there are 2 pipes that are somewhat symmetrical to each other and are about 6" lower than the ceiling. Right now it looks as though they are just being covered with a very thin layer (1" or so) of insulation (yellow insulation looks like 703 FRK type, silver backing) and doesn't seem generate sound at all when the heat is on. Will this be a problem either for acoustics?
Question 2
Since the height of this room is only a little over 6' 4" (No floating floor for this project ) will there be problems with the listening position and should I keep the pink type of insulation in the ceiling or swap that for the 703/rockwool?
Question 3
What type of materials do I use for the walls, and how would I go about the construction for framing, mounting studs to the concrete, etc. Also what is the best type of insulation for low end absorption?
Question 4
Is it possible to have both the booth and control integrated in the same room without a wall separation?
Question 5
One of the pictures below is just a picture of foam. Is this of any use at all? It's 4" wedge foam that I got from www.foambymail.com when I was a newbie and though that foam was the best solution. :?

Aloha Elfs,
Been swamped with too many other projects lately, but will try to get an hour or two to look over your post. Hang in there!

I'm actually just going to making this into a vocal booth. Should be able to make an amazing booth with this. I'm going to draw up some plans for it, I'm thinking of just having 2 walls on the left and right of the door entrance that are not parallel and just have bass hangers right the way through.
