I would like to express my deepest apologies to the RSD forum and Mr. John Sayers himself.
This concerns my pathetic rant I started about 6 months ago. If you do not know of it, please do not research it, it makes no difference and many of my posts have been deleted or altered long ago. I feel very ashamed of the way I acted here, and I sincerely mean it. For some reason I felt that I was being passed over unjustly, I couldnt figure out why. I had seen even the simplest responses like "edit your loc." or "dont use caps" to others, but to no avail I couldnt get a response. In my mind I thought I did everything a required poster should follow, writeup was very detailed and featured a shetchup that took oodles of time & nearly caused me to loose my marbles! And I did.
But being a "newb" to forums themselves, I only sought them out for information to build a better studio. I never thought in a million years some of the things I said/did I would truely regret, or that this would be such a rollercoaster of a ride.
I tried 3 different sites to better my mousetrap, SC, RSD, and ST
SC: First one I think I joined as seemed at the time "most popular" This site was interesting at first, but was really of little help to me at all. For me useable info was scarce, I did look from time to time but all the OT & worthless comments some users make made me vow to simply leave, never return or read anything on that forum again.
RSD: Joined this site, tried my damn hardest to appease anyone who may help. I didnt happen, so I spouted my angst, topic was locked, I simply went away as I Knew I wasnt welcome to post here anymore. I did however read an enormous amount of highly useful information from this very site. In that respect I am very greatful for its existence. Even though I wasnt able to communicate with the members this site, it was a springboard to my eventual design. For that I am truely appreciative. My original intention was with the help of RSD to build a proper room and feature it on this site for others to follow, as our exchange would have been IMHO a mutual benefit to everyone.
ST: I Tried this site too, but they are a peculiar, dare I say "funny" bunch of individuals. After a few posts there, I realized you better think twice, three times a lady about the questions you ask them -before asking. And thats if the "noob" can actually comprehend some of the intricate answers given or you may just wind up chum for the sharks. I was a bit perplexed by their talking back and forth and cynicism instead of being serious and polite as I had just come from sites that expected it as the norm? Somewhat left me baffled there too.
Remember folk's I had to learn this all the hard way. Very frustrated planning I then even tried to hire an online consultant. OMFG! you should have seen my eyes pop outta my head, and the whine I let out when presented with the enormus rate this person wanted to charge me for what little (I felt and still do) I was asking him to provide. I also was told that this figure was a gift! Looking back, the only real gift evident was the one I was about to deposit in his banking account! I said enough is enough, and got out the skillsaw and started building the best I knew how.
I literally put my "life" on hold to do this. I had spent countless hours reading/planning (1000 total?) before I even started, then constructed that studio best way I knew how with every ounce of spare energy I could muster. & It's done!, I couldnt be happier, but the greif I caused here on RSD still lingers at times, and I feel much better getting this all off my chest.
While most take years to do and accomplish, or are still in limbo, this happened for me in under 5 months! Going from knowing nothing to building a complete studioin such a short time may make some peeps jealous. But when I get determined about something there is absolutely no stopping me, and my drive is unparalled by few, and what I can do mystifies even myself at times. The 5 months (& seems all my estimates eventually doubled!)like an eternity for me but I think if a "newb" were to come here with very little understanding and proposition this, might be simply not given any merit at all.
Perhaps, someone else "a newb" may read this and learn from my big mistake of how NOT to go about it. Every s/n on the internet is a person and has feelings too, sometimes it gets lost in the print. I acted like a total dickhead here on RSD. When JS stepped in, for some dumb reason I was upset that he wasnt trying to calm me down and turn that stupid mess around. Then again, "Why should he?" meaning I was already pissing all over the RSD forum. Eventually that topic was locked (yep, I was mad about that too!) but it was for the better. I can't imagine why I wasn't simply banned forever from this site. Maybe JS knew someday I would wise up and write this extensive apology.
Geeeezuus! what a lot of rambling -eh?
I am going to dissappear off the radar now, forget about forums and go do my thang. I thought I would never ever post here again, but this will definately be my last -Db post anywhere. Odds are I wont check this or look back anymore, also please I am asking no-one respond or attempt to further discuss this with me. Putting this to rest, and moving on with my life. I just wanted to set the record straight and hopefully show somebody else how NOT to go about it and act the fool such as I did.
Again, Everyone: I am really, really sorry!
-Db,
A public apology, I am sorry guys -Db

Hello Db, Special post, but nice. Your way of writing and describing stuff made me curious, so I checked the posts here and at ST (which one is SC?, I'm not used to these abbreviations) http://forum.studiotips.com/search.php?search_author=Db :D Seems as standard conversation to me. You like superlatives don't you? One guy was gently corrected by others, and that one guy gently agreed with the correction. All in your interest. :) I don't mean anything wrong here, nor discuss or dispute anything. You just made me curious. Success with your project. PS: If one doesn't reply to a question (which has little to do with whatever bad thing). Just simply bump telling: Guys please I need you .... or don't forget me....., and everyone starts feeling guilty. Works as a charm ....ST: I Tried this site too, but they are a peculiar, dare I say "funny" bunch of individuals. Nice post, Db. I wish you well.
Building a studio can be quite stressful, as your post exemplifies.

Welcome back DB, forget about the beef and start building!
(and keep up the patience, eh)
The ST-forum isn't working.
I was curious what I did this time....
Yup. Not working for me either...
(sorry for the short thread-hijack).
Cheers,
Jon.
Thank you Dan - I appreciate your apology - so where are the pics of the new studio??
cheers
