Hi there !
This is my first post. I have been directed here by a studio engineer that me and my band met last year. I’ve been reading here since then. I do plan to built my own little studio/practice room one day, however this post is regarding something else. First what makes me finaly post here is the level of professionalism of this group and the tone of everyone answering posts, there is just no cheap talks , BS, or disrespect, these were important factors for me. Now, here’s the thing, my retired father who’s a very sweet yet sometime stubborn man  wants to built his own “home theatre” in his basement house, he is full of good intention and very determined to do it himself and very able to do so. So far so good. But, what makes me post here is : the way he think he is going to accomplish that / the results he think he will achieve. He wants to be able to listen to movies late at night without disturbing my mother sleeping the floor above. He’s got a hell of a 5.1 surround sound system with a sub, and believe me, it’s looooooud . See the more I read here the more I think he’ll just spend time and money on something that doesn’t work as he think it should work. He would never post here nor he would listen to any stranger from the devilish internet  , but he will listen to his daughter.
Now that brings me to this questions : Can I post here asking questions on how to built something that is not a studio or practice room ? If the answer is no, it’s ok I understand, I’ll just keep on reading.
Sorry for the long post.
Can i post here / would i get some help ?
