Is it possible to create a modular and portable practice room or drum booth like a Whisperroom? I'm sure I'm not the only one who's ever looked at these rooms and said "I could build that"... Seems to me that building the partitions is the easy part...connecting them all together is the hard part. The reason I'm asking is I followed the USG link on one of the stickys and I came upon some specialty USG steel studs like the C-H and H steel studs that would make it possible to connect wall partitions... Having something that worked reasonably well and is portable is a fantastic concept...but why does it have to be so expensive? Can't I build one myself cheaper? I know for a fact that's how Vocalbooth.com got started... 6 months of trial and error and now the guy is in the booth-making business. I wonder if the code/permit requirements would be different...

then again maybe I am- hahaha!
I really doubt it. Soundproofing and portability and/or temporaryness are rather mutually exclusive. --Keith
I doubt it as well. Hey Keith, what's your email address? I've tried sending one to you but no response.
I just found this accidentally while doing a search on 'door' at Recording.org: http://www.recording.org/ftopict-26627-door.html Read 'Oddity' s post... He built a portable/modular room and says it works well...no HVAC though which is an issue...
