Type K rubber - what's the gap?

I was looking at Rod's book. The illustration for a door.. shows type K trunk rubber as a sound seal. What gap allowance do I need between the door and the door stop? (see sketch) Thanks, Creatch

it doesn't work like that - set te rubber so it is a nice clean tight fit to the door - hold in place with staples - then fit the trim as required/ Rod
