Hi All, Perhaps some of you are in a similar quandry...need doors that have better performance than regular hollow core, but also need colonial style on at least one face in order to maintain some semblance of normalcy in the room (and keep up a good relationship with your wife). I found these: http://www.jeld-wen.com/media/media.cfm?MediaID=78 They're Molded solid core doors in colonical style. Available at reasonable prices (around $120 per door). While they're not fantastic performance all by themselves, they are STC 31, and would probably be a good platform for beefing up via adding a layer of MDF. They certainly have a look that is more consistant with hollow core collonial doors, and in my case will be easier to get wife approval from. Please let me know if there's some reason why I shouldn't be using these doors.... Cheers, Kris
