i have built a low frequency absorber about 6" off that rear wall that is 8" thick of rigid fiberglass the spans 8 feet wide (length). i also have the superchunk method in the corners that are made up of 2 x 2 x 2.? triangles. i just put up auralex bass traps on the topmost part of the 8 foot wall so it hugs the wall and the ceiling all the way across. now i want to put auralex t fusors on the wall to get a diffusion affect for mid - high frequencys but allow low to pass through and get absorbed by the LFA. i will also have lots of 4", 3", 2" and bass traps through out the room as well. any input on putting the diffusors over the rear wall? or should i put them else where and allow all the frequencies to be absorbed by the LFA in the back
diffusors over low frequency absorbers

How far is the rear wall from your mix position? One school of thought says that if it is closer than 10', don't bother with diffusion. If it's further than 10', you should be fine putting the Tfusors over your gargantuan absorber. Some companies have recently come out with a product that does exactly this (diffusion/bass trapping).... realtraps has one I think.
Thanks for the plug JWL. Note that ours is a real QRD diffusor as well as a real membrane bass trap. That is, the well filling is rigid fiberglass instead of wood or thin plastic, and the cover material is a reflective membrane. --EthanSome companies have recently come out with a product that does exactly this (diffusion/bass trapping).... realtraps has one I think.
