Bass trap cover, Ozite ok?

Hello, I have to re-do some traps in the soffit wall, and I was wondering if Ozite (black speaker carpet) would work as a covering for bass traps. Is it too thick? Would thin fabric be better? I will be placing wood strips over the top after the covering is stapled on. I think it should work fine, and we have miles of it... just looking for a second opinion. :) Thanks, Dave.

Strictly for Bass traps it will be fine. Low frequencies blow through 1/2 inch sheetrock like it wasn't there. Fabric is not going to stop it. It wont do as well for high frequencies, but hopefully that is not an issue. Tom
