Absorbtion differences. Am I missing something???

I am getting ready for the treatment of my control room and ISO booth. I was over looking at Bob's site on the absorbtion coefficients. Am I missing something or am I better off using Roxul safe n Sound for my traps and absorbers. The low end absorbtion seems to be better than OC703 and its cheaper and more readily available. Maybe I am misunderstanding something. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It seems the more I research the more confused I become. The end is finally in sight for me and I am stuck on a few critical items. More posts to follow :) http://www.bobgolds.com/AbsorptionCoefficients.htm

Both products work well, so buy the one that costs less or is more readily available. Rock wool is not as nice to work with as rigid fiberglass, and it tends to sag over time. If $$$ matters more than anything else, RW does a good job. Also, what you're missing is that standard acoustic data like this is not nearly as precise as you'd hope. Lab results can vary as much as 50 percent at 125 Hz, even when the exact same material is tested. --Ethan
Hi Ethan, Thanks so much for your help. I understand there is some differences in testing but either way it seems it would be close. I can see what you mean about the rigid being easier to work with. I think I may get a combination of both. While cost does play a part into the decisions it is not a leading factor for me. I did not spend thousands and thousands of dollars building this studio to make it sound like crap near the end just to save some bucks. :) I am sure you have dealt with people that have tried to cut corners along the way and are suprised when they do not achieve the results they were hoping for. Hopefully that does not happen to me :D On a side note. I have some bulk heads in my control room that I was think about making mini superchunks along the ceiling, any thoughts on the effectiveness of these. In a previous thread I was told to put absorption across all 90degree angles in my room.
Anyone??

You didn't say how big you intend to make them, so it's impossible to comment. But if you're asking if fiberglass in the room corners will help. the answer is Yes. :) --Ethan
