DNSB Sway Brace - 12" bolt to attach to wall?

Has anyone used a sway brace as listed below? My outside 2 x 4 wall will be 12" from the cinder block wall in my basement. I would like to use Mason's sway brace (DNSB) to stabilize the wall. Can I use a 14" bolt on the brace to secure it to the cinderblock? Their website shows a shorter bolt...Has anyone used these a foot away from the a structure you want to anchor to? Ron
