So I am building a "rehearsal" studio. I'm a drummer and I might do some demo's. But other than that, just a nice big drum room. I know I need one air in take. Can I get away with one blower or should I use two? I'm in MN and it does get cold, but the studio will have so much auralex in the walls, hear won't be a problem. I do have central air and think it would be nice to have the two blowers to bring in the a/c. Any thoughts? Here is a rough photo of the layout. The back wall isn't 50ft, more like 22. Oh, I was thinking of having the intake by the door and the blowers at each end of the long wall in back.

I'd first read them stickies, esp this one: http://www.johnlsayers.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3231 Then I'd read them stickies again. And while yer busy catching up on your reading, read the forum. make your plans as detailed as possible and tell us why (you think) your plan works. Arguments please. Tell us all about your space. iow. help us help you. Okay? cheers. ps. you space is big enough to have one exhaust blower. Depending on the blower's power. Since you'd prolly gonna buy a one (but again, no info so I'm not sure), get a good one (see, I wrote ONE :) )
Sorry about that. I have been reading this forum for a while now and thought I could get away with just short and to the point. The drum room... I am doing the old room with in a room here. The outside walls will have one layer of sheet rock with 4in mineral fiber, 4in space and then another 2x6 stud with 4in mineral fiber, RC-8, sheet rock, sheetblok, sheet rock. The ceiling will be done the same way. So needless to say, air will be pretty tight. I am making my own "muffler" box for the blower and air return. The drum room is in a walk out basement that has a little over 9ft ceilings. I'm pretty green about HVAC and was just going to tie into the house. Being in MN, heat wont be a problem, I have central air and am just trying to get some air moving in there. The house is alittle over a year old.
Please edit your profile to include your location. It's one of the most critical things and is covered in the "Before You Post" announcement.

To be honest, it's hard to take this seriously. How can it be off by 28 feet? strutt, the amount of help you'll get from members of this forum is in direct proprtion to the amount of effort you put into your questions, including doing your research here to learn as much as you can beforehand. :) --Keith
Hmmmmm... You stated...

Now, I'm assuming you ALSO mean that along with the CENTRAL AIR you can also pump in HEAT in colder weather. Surely you are not depending on "body heat" to keep the area warm in the colder weather (ie: the Auralex walls...It's kind of hard to know your plans for heating as you could also be talking about some other type of heating system-device) Even if you do bring in air from a "blower" where is the stale air inside the room going to go? You need to be able to exhaust (some type of air return) the air in the room some kind of way. There are a lot of posts on here dealing with HVAC. Take the time to do some searching on this and other topics as needed. In the mean time here are some HVAC posts to get you started. http://www.johnlsayers.com/phpBB2/viewt ... =silencers http://www.johnlsayers.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=4106 http://www.johnlsayers.com/phpBB2/viewt ... c&start=15 Hey...not trying to sound "harsh" in my reply, but just a give a little more info on what you're doing "AFTER" doing more research!
