Is this real ?? BASS TRAP whith SAND....

This one on the the link above was the only one of that kind. What do you think about it ? Does it work ?? Better , the same or worst than the regular bass traps refered on this forum ? No it doesn't work. That story is the laughing stock of the acoustic treatment industry. I sent the DIY Network an email last year explaining this, but they obviously don't care because this wrong information is still on their web site. --Ethan
in addition, the main use for using tube would be to create tuned resonate chambers to level out problem spots in a room BUT the problem is you generally need a bunch of real estate to do it because some of the tubes are quite large and need to be spaced at precise locations in the room in order to have any effect. so broadband absorption and and tuning with panels and Helmholtz is popular because of the effectiveness and space savings. tubes can have their use but (as Ethan pointed out) not as described in the article.
