Hi folks... I'm expanding my studio and building a 10'x15' foley, ADR, Walla room and need to get a good sized video picture. Up to now, I've simply been using a 19" monitor outside the glass of my iso/vocal booth, but I'll need something bigger for the new room. What would you suggest? Either a 37"-42" plasma/LCD screen wall-mounted? Or a ceiling-mounted lcd projector (but hopefully without a loud fan?)? Thanks for your help, I'm trying to get this finished by next week!! cheers rich
Wow sounds great! Most plasmas still have a large latency, 12-20ms. LCD's are better but you still need to be aware of the spec when buying. Creating a sound proof, roof mounted housing for the projector would be good. I think there's a web site somewhere on soundproofing and acoustics  Do you have natural light in the studio?

No, there's no natural light. I'd LOVE to get a projector ceiling-mounted. But I was concerned about over-heating if I build a 'doghouse' for the projector. How hot do those things get?
the sony CX and Es ranged are not that loud, nor hot. the fan will need an escape port out in to the roof cavity. you could build a minature version of the old 35mm film projector set-ups. With in and out vents inc. filters. Or if you had room you could rear project with a short throw lens from a joining area in the studio. Ratios of 1:1.2 size to distance
