Another question for you all, About to lay rubber flooring in the lobby of the studio like this: http://www.matsdirect.co.uk/assets/down ... 20tile.pdf Anyone layed this down in a live room or control room?? Wondered as it looks really nice in the right colours Cheers J
I like the look of those, but i was considering going with 1/2" thick mats like these because they isolate sound much better. Depending on whether you want your live room to be really "live" the thinner mats would be better, but in my case i am looking for more isolation without floating a floor. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... &rd=1&rd=1
both Left Bank and Oasis studios have 1/2" rubber - from standard 1/2" rubber floor mats cut into strips - under all the flooring battens. Works very well and the floors have a nice feel to walk on. cheers john
So sounds like my idea is on track to use those mats John? I was planning on doing those over the slab concrete, then either floating some laminate flooring or carpet to isolate some of the flanking noise through to the exterior structure?

Well Im hoping to deaden it down a little as the floor is solid concrete with a 30mm screed. Probably lay something under these also like standard rubber matting.
The flooring looks like carpet. Is this type of flooring made of PVC? I only see strip shaped flooring. Is the flooring water resistant? I'd like to buy this type of flooring for my office if the flooring is safe.

Yeah, sure you would! Then again, you might like to SELL flooring, which is the entire purpose of your spam scam. Don't you get the hint? Spammers are not welcome here. Take a hike.
