due to weight load issues on my current control room that is upstairs, i am moving it to a downstairs location. unfortunately, it only has 8' ceilings. i would prefer not to do any additional construction and only treat the room with panels and absorbers. i need some advice on where to treat and put my nearfields. i don't mix at a loud volume, but would like playback and mixes to be as accurate as possible. my budget for treating the space is $1,000 and i can DIY.
thanks for your input.

Aloha and welcome to the forum!
Any chance you could resize your pic down to about 700 pixels wide, please?

You should put your speakers in front of the northwest wall, facing toward the southeast wall. Then set the mix position 38 percent of the way back in the room. That's a little more than 6 feet back from the front wall you face while listening. Then add as many corner bass traps as you can manage, plus first reflection treatment on the side walls and ceiling. I imagine the room may still be a bit to live, so plan for a few more mid/high frequency absorbers elsewhere around the room. --Ethani need some advice on where to treat and put my nearfields.
