Hello, my name is Wes. I'm possibly inheriting some money soon and with this I plan on building a studio. Now I dont want like a $500,000 studio or anything, but I was wondering if someone could tell me everything I need and everything I need to do to get it started. Ive been using my little small home studio but its nothing really. A behringer mixer, two Rokit 5 Monitors a nice computer with a really nice sound card. A Guitar Rack Proccessor kinda sucks, and Acid Pro 6.0. Im doing ok, but im a drummer anyways. But I wanna build a little studio out back of the house im getting. To where I can have a pretty ok sized control room and a good studio room with vocal booth and the studio be good enough so my band can also practice in that room. I need to know EVERYTHING I need. so if you have floor plans send them my way ideas anything please. I still need to know alot of basics to but its always been my dream to run and own a small studio, im not good at anything else except music and shoving out good ideas and I wanna do that. ill never become a mathematician or anything but I want this. Please help me what should I do I wanna know everything,.... Thanks.

Aloha Wes,
Okay, you're off to a good start! :wink:I BOUGHT IT!!!
We would be happy to help, but need a bit more info in order to do so, please. If you could answer the following point for point, we'll be off and running. - HOW LOUD are you? - How picky/loud are your neighbors? - How close are they? - How much room do you have to work with? Remember that acoustics is THREE DIMENSIONAL, not two - when you give dimensions, we need Length, Width, Height - Include drawings of what you're describing if at all possible. They do not need to be professional or perfectly to scale, but they do need to account for the necessary details. - Please edit your pics to no more than 700 pixels wide. - Please post ALL pix directly on this site instead of linking to them. Posting the pix HERE would ensure that others get the help YOU got; thanks... - Group your actual questions last, and put each question in its own paragraph. This makes it easier to respond to each of your questions. Hope this helps you, help us, help you. Looking forward to your build. :D Aloha 8)if anyones can just give me a good layout on Sketchup to use something kinda big, big enough to have a control room and just one studio and the studio being big enough to ALSO practice in. If anyone has any drawn up ones like that PLEASE let me see them.
