Hello everyone! I've been lurking on this forum for the last couple months but I haven't posted yet. I wanted to say that I am amazed at the wealth of knowledge and experience here. Thanks for providing such a great resource! I am moving in the spring and at that time I will be buying a house with an unfinished basement to build a studio in. I've read Rod's book (based on the recommendations here) so I have a better idea going into my next house on how I'm going to do things. Once I buy a place, I'll be starting a thread here and will probably be paying one of you professionals to assist with the actual design blueprints. I'm not experienced with construction so I will be working with a contractor - hopefully I won't be pulling too much of my hair out over that. My planned budget right now is about $25,000 for everything related to design, construction, and acoustic treatment. I do already have a Real Traps room kit (8 bass traps and 3 micro traps) that I'll be bringing with me. Anyway.... I just wanted to introduce myself so I'm not a total stranger when I start my actual thread. At that point, I'll make sure to include all of the information noted in the "before you post" sticky. Thanks! -Ryan
Aloha and welcome to the forum, Ryan Congrats on your new place and looking forward to your build! :D Aloha 8)
Hello Ryan, So where in Portland are you moving to? Hopfully into an area with dry basements, it's been a pretty wet year here. Feel free to stop by PCC Cascade if you want to chat about your project.
