my room size is about 23' X11' X 8' rectangle (for now?!?!) i'm in new jersey i'm framing RIGHT NOW, so if i need to change my layout, now is the time. some new threads i've been reading are getting me torn. it will be tracking and mixing combo room. my previous post with pics/layout is here: http://johnlsayers.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=7411 here is the reverb time for the room. in their respect order (125Hz, 250, 500, 1000, 2000, 4000) just drywall, no treatment ; as-is .37 .91 1.33 1.69 2.06 1.96 i'm still unsure as to how to use these numbers. ie: the angle/depth of my splays/ slots please see this thread to see my room layout http://johnlsayers.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=7411 here is exactly what i need to find out: 1. should the 'front' walls be angled broadband slot resonators or just splayed walls? a big concern is access to the electric box/ symmetry - as i can't fill the cavity fully with insulation, and i can't get an airtight seal with the gypsum and circuit breaker 2. what angle/depth should the 'front' walls be? 3. after looking at my original layout here, http://johnlsayers.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=7411 (my concerns are the yellow area-without the soffit mounts, just a straight angle) A. what is the best thing to do with these side walls on each side of the drums? keeping in mind this is a combo room, mixing/tracking; B. should i put broadband slot resonators like this on each side? or leave the walls parallel and treat them somehow? (ie. rigid fiberglass, curved plywood, sawtooth panels?) I like the look of slot resonators, but i want whats best more than what looks the coolest.
