Just a quick question. I already searched this topic but havent found the answer for this exact scenerio I am posing here. I also, in the past asked this question reference using Sliding doors between the CR and the outside world, and was told that their sound isolation factors are terrible and not to use them. (so obviously I'm not going to).
But my question now is,,,,what about using double sliding doors inside the building between the CR and the Tracking room?? I see many of you in your sketchup drawings use sliders between interior rooms. Or are those your using the expensive zillion dollar Studio type sliding doors?? Would 2 regular sliding doors, installed back to back, with an air gap between them, work good enough for a home/project studio like I am building?
If this would work and I could use them, that would eliminate having to install a double window between the rooms, and then also having to hang 2 solid core doors back to back between the rooms etc etc. The double sliders would handle both jobs with less breeching of the integrity of the double walls you would think (one opening in each wall would be better then two you'd think) :? >>? :?
I did find in my search, some info on the need for the sliders to be single pane, otherwise you would have a 4 leaf system, is this true and are those type doors available without costing an arm and a leg?? John I see you use them alot, exactly what doors are you using in situations like this one?
You guys dont realize (or maybe you do) how glad I am that I had to wait on building this studio until Spring due to the weather. I have made soooo many darn changes, but its getting better every day. As always, thanks for all your help.
Thanks again
