(the radiators isnt that long as shown in the picture.) i cant have the liveroom in the same room as the door and the windows since it might disturb the neighbours. everywhere else is fine. the small room to the upper right is going to be a kitchen. how does this look:

you have to walk trough the small room(2 doors) to get to the bigger liveroom where the drums are. the controlroom are 22 m2 and the drumroom 17 m2. the small room is mostly for amps and vocals. the "squared" thing in the middle is a bearing thing in the wall.. do you think the listening in the controlroom will be ok? Will ofcourse put in absorbers ers etc. have any better ideas? The less walls the better, since we dont have very much money, and we cant stay longer then a year or two.. ive attached a sketchup file of the room (without walls) if someone wants to come with ideas that way. Thanks for reading this, help apriciate!
the Height is 2.40(the wall in the end) to ~3 meter (the closest wall where the door is). the budget is max 700-900$. (only walls, not doors etc) so its pretty tight but its poossible.. the only way the neighbours can hear us is through the wall where the door and windows are. please tell me if i forgot any information ive read the "DON'T EVEN think ABOUT POSTING before you READ THIS..." and i think ive got it all. thanks!
Aloha and welcome to the forum! Congrats on your studio build! Any chance you could please resize your pics down to 700 pixels wide, please? This will eliminate having to scroll back and forth to read the posts, and will probably increase your responses. (Its also part of the forum rules.) Thanks! http://www.johnlsayers.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=357 Aloha 8)
done, thanks! I tried to attach my sketchup file of the empty room but i couldnt. dont know why its only 116 kb. edit: my mistake, sorry..

i'd move the CR somehow to avoid having that post right in the listening area. if need be flip the design so the post is in the "back" of the CR. or something like this... you can put in a cut-away by the CR radiator as needed to allow in the heat..

thanks a lot. the reason why i put it my was is because if place it like you have suggestion i can disturb neighbours. therefore i cant have the "big" liveroom next to the same wall as the windows and door are, im afraid.. also one radiator would be inside of the wall.. would it work as suggested or do you have another suggestion? Thank you VERY much for helping out, i really do apriciate it!
oh, and the reason why i choose it the way i did was that i want the radiators in different rooms.
Aloha, How about something like this? Aloha 8)

the configuration is substantially the same as yours... i just rotated the CR... that said, flip the CR/iso booth and the live room... and add a small iso booth/air lock over the door... the radiator is under the trap area under the window - you could just add an opening to allow the radiator to function. as far as isolation goes, you need to figure out how loud you expect your internal levels to be and then what walls, ceilings, floors will work to reduce the levels outside enough to not disturb your neighbors... Rod Gervais's book covers a lot of this type of construction. I'll post some more ideas tonight.
thanks a lot!! both of you! have have no idea how much help you are! keep the suggestions coming, ill show the other guys! kendale; please add a sketchup file of that if its ok!
oh, and btw. since this is a low budget project, we dont have the time or can afford building walls against the walls that are already there.. thanks again.
Aloha,
kendale; please add a sketchup file of that if its ok!

I based my design on yours, but I made the controlroom a little bit bigger. this is the final one, does it look ok? Thanks a lot for the help. please answer as soon as possible so that we can go on. thanks a lot, fantastic forum and help!
Aloha,
I based my design on yours, but I made the control room a little bit bigger. This is the final one, does it look ok?
The idea looks okay. Here's a couple of thoughts/questions for you: - What are your new room measurements? - What is your current wall construction - drywall, concrete, brick? - Are you on the ground floor by any chance? - Perhaps you could have your control room door open out into the entry/iso room. - Perhaps you could have your live room door open towards the wall.
Oh, and btw. Since this is a low budget project, we don’t have the time or can afford building walls against the walls that are already there.
I can’t have the live room in the same room as the door and the windows since it might disturb the neighbours.
I understand the budget issues and time constraints. - You may want to consider however, just how much isolation do you need to keep from disturbing the neighbors. - Can you afford to redo your build because of not enough isolation initially? Hmm, food for thought... Just be sure to check your local building codes (if any) to make sure your all of your ducks are in a row. Aloha 8)
- What are your new room measurements? the controlroom is 17 m2, the bigger liveroom is 17,5 m2 and the small liveroom 7,6 m2. - Are you on the ground floor by any chance? - What is your current wall construction - drywall, concrete, brick? its concretre and at some places bricks.. its kinda a basement. the wall opposite the wall with the door are under ground. Next to the wall to the left is just a basement, no persons working or living there. The wall to the right is a garage where a person store his car. above the ceiling there is first concrete then bricks then soil and grass. There are not gonna pass any sound through these way. im not sure how much sound that will pass trough the wall with the doors and the windows though. the neighbours are locate quite far up (3 floors up from the basement to the left) so i dont think thats gonna be a problem.. what do you think. - Perhaps you could have your control room door open out into the entry/iso room. Is that better? How come? I just thought it would be better the way i made it if you for example want to record drums (or something that takes a lot of space). would be hard to get trough the small room if the door opens out into the entry/iso room. - Perhaps you could have your live room door open towards the wall. youre right. Sorry for my bad english, ive attached a drawing so that you might understand it better.
