ok from my understanding you dont want to put to much foam in the mix room cause you'll absorb the highs but not the lows leaving the room uneven. what if you did a super bass trap thing in the back of the room with something like 2" 703 in the corner with 4" 703 about 2 inches off the first with maybe another 4" 703 2 inches off the last, you get the pic. would that be good cause it would aborb all the low and high frequency if you have angled walls.

is anyone gonna reply, let me put it another way, would a 1 foot thick foam bass trap in the back of the room be a good idea to absorb the low frequencies plus the high frequencies.
Gdaddio,
If you browse/search this forums Acoustic section you will be in the right room for your questions. You can have a look at my posts: about absorbers and Bass traps, I have built similar to your suggested Super bass trap, 170 mm 705 100 +70 mm with about 100-150mm air gap. Lots of pics.

well i know what a bass trap is, i think my question relates more to the studio design, if i designed my studio to have "super traps" in the rear of the room, do any of you "experts" think that it would effectively absorb the low frequency as well as the high, and if so, then maybe more people should do it.
I think you might get the answer you expect when there are enough information about your room
The "experts" as you call them, need information such as construction material, dimentions etc. I hope picture, drawings and all relevant details about the room you want to put a basstrap into will be posted soon. Good luck. :)
