Hello all,
Well i'm starting over on my studio because the original floor plans and control room just sucked. Does someone have time to sketup me up a floor plan?
The building is 40' x 24' with a 10' ceiling.
My door entry is lets say on the west side of the studio 15' from the north end.
My power box and plumbing are on the east wall about midway, well 16'.
I'm looking or a decent control room with rack poducers desk, live room, and also restroom, and iso booth.
Would like a few sliding glass doors thrown into the mix where applicable.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me. I"ve looked at he garadge layouts, but they aren't working efficiently enough for my space and where my plumbing is located, mid way on east wall near power.
Again, thanks for the help.

Hoping for a sketch up design...needing help here.

Aloha and welcome to the forum, Prax :D
Congrats on your studio build! Any chance you could please:
You'll probably get more of a response by doing so and this will really come in handy two or three posts down the road. It's also part of the forum guidelines: Forum Rules – John Sayers http://www.johnlsayers.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=7572 Before Posting – Steve Knightfly http://www.johnlsayers.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3231 The more info you can provide, the easier it is to come up with appropriate suggestions. Is there any chance you could do a rough drawing of your layout, preferences and windows/doors/posts/walls and post it for us? Pics really help too. Looking forward to your build, Aloha 8)Edit your profile to include your location. This is very important, because this is a worldwide resource, and as such, material costs and availability vary widely. For example, masonry is cheaper than gypsum in some parts of the globe, whereas it's the exact opposite in other regions.
Thanks for the quick response.... I have updated my profile and did a quick sketch using paint :D . It's basic but i hope it works for you. The only thing that really has to stay is where the power is and septic, which I think I can run to a differnt location. I will try to provide pics later, but hope this will work for now. Basically it's a big square box with a very nice thick cement floor.
Again Thanks

Okay so the pic was to small and not it's all distorted when I try to enlarge. So basically it says on the bottom that it's build with 2x6 framing. It has 1ft cement slab other then thats it's a giant wood box with 10 foot ceilings.
I hope you can make out the image enough. Sorry im really new at this stuff.
Thanks
Prax,
Aloha,
Here's a quick sketch...

Thanks for replying so fast. Would it be to much to ask for a bathroom placed in there somewhere? The building inspector said I had to have a wheelchair accessible bathroom.
Thanks
Prax
you could also try something like this where the lounge area doubles as a large iso booth. bath and electric (in closet) in the middle (airlock could be optional from lounge or another iso booth. if it has to be ADA compliant bathroom access, then i'd replace the bathroom door with something 3' wide. although it may then need to be wider and deeper since I think ADA specs is somewhere around 25sq ft for the toilet.
open live room would need lots of treatment. you could also fit in a drum booth if you needed to.
Aloha,
Or perhaps something like this? Both of these drawings were based on an earlier drawing by John.

Thank you guys, very nicely done..... that will help a ton.
Again Thanks
