Greetings, I am new here and look forward to sharing post with this forum. Thanks for having me. I would like to get some feedback regarding my live room which is 25x24x9'1" with two 10" wide walls that go out 4' dead center of the room either side. What can I do to improve the live room, it does not sound bad to me but there is always room for improvement? Details and pix below. I will try and answer the questions required on the posting rules page. I hope I remember them all...here goes. Studio location: Florida Age: 33. Type of music played or recorded at studio High Volume Electric Art Rock and some Jazz acts. Studio 70 should be ready very soon. [b]Type of Construction: Exterior is brick 3 sides and T1-11 on the forth side. Studio floor is slab with extra thick carpet and pad. One Interior wall has two layers of sheetrock 5/8" & 1/2" on Soundboard. Double doors are installed. Neighbors are not a problem due the mass of the walls and almost 1 foot thickness. This was a garage that had two seperate bay doors ie fire station style. Brick Exterior. For the bay doors we used T 1-11 on the outside attached to 2x6 staggard stud wall filled with r-19 and then 1/2 layer of soundboard and then two layers of sheetrock 5/8 and 1/2". Only low bass sounds can be heard outside and once you are out by the street it is hard to hear anything at all. Ceiling is 5/8" sheetrock and 1/2" soundboard most likely the weakest link. Track lighting. Dimensions: Live Room 25x24x9'1", control room 16x12. Extra 150sq' brick room if needed for iso booth but not wired for mic's yet, so far we have not needed to isolate anything. Cutting vocals in the live room has been working ok. Goals: to record music on the quality level of late 60's early 70's records, I am not interested in modern recordings. Make a little money recording other acts (prefer Jazz/Rock I have an averison to Rap and Metal) so the studio can at least pay for itself, I have other sources of income so I do not rely on this to put food on thr table. The studios primary funtion is to provide a place for my band to record and rehearse and record bands I relate too. Aloha Eric, Resized your pics down to 700 pixel wide to avoid having to scroll. Lookis like you've got a nice sized room there. What kind of acoustical treatments have you planned? (absorbers, clouds, bass traps, etc.) Aloha 8)
