Hi all.
I started a post recently called 'Workshop Into Studio?' and I'm just trying to finalise my floor plan (sorry, not sure how to do a link to my original post but it's still on the first page and has more pictures and descriptions of the building and my plans).
I'd welcome any comments about this layout below. There are three pics - one of how the building is now (totally open plan) and two more of my design, one with dimensions.
The walls in blue are going to be built with regard to sound insulation (probably three layers of 12.5mm plasterboard on metal frame) and the red walls will just be standard. The height of the current ceiling is 2.7m.
As you can see I'm hoping to put a window in the control room and live room. I'm pretty happy with the layout but I'm just after any more advice I can get, or possible problems I might have missed.
Thanks for looking,
Jamie.

Don't be afraid of angles Jamie. ;)

Hi John,
Thanks so much for the speedy response! :D
I wasn't sure which angles might be good or which ones might be bad so I think I avoided too many! :?
Can I just confirm with you that the office / kitchen walls that link to the control room would need to be seperate walls so to keep the structure sound transmision to a mimimum?
Also, would the same thing be true of the walls between the booth and live room if I'm using them together, or is this not worth the trouble in your opinion?
Finally, could get a copy of your design to use as a basis to get all the right angles etc.?
Thanks again, John!
Jamie.
The control room walls are all separate from the external structure - just don't connect the wall of the office to the control room wall. Can I just confirm with you that the office / kitchen walls that link to the control room would need to be seperate walls so to keep the structure sound transmision to a mimimum?
It depends on how much isolation you want in the booth - you could make the booth a double wall isolated structure with double doors - it's up to you. Also, would the same thing be true of the walls between the booth and live room if I'm using them together, or is this not worth the trouble in your opinion?.
It's a smart draw file - here you go.Finally, could get a copy of your design to use as a basis to get all the right angles etc.?
