I just posted this over at homerecording... figured I'd post it here too. :) In August a reporter for a local newspaper came over and interviewed me about my studio. He found me through youtube because of my construction videos. Well, the story finally ran today! :) I bought 4 copies. http://sonicclang.ringdev.com/studio/verona_press.jpg
Good on ya Brian! :) It's a good read.
Thanks for giving it a read. :) I was thinking of everyone here and homerecording.com when I said "There are hundreds of people like me learning to build studios on the internet".
and what about the YouTube links? :) thanks
Very cool man very cool.
Every time I've released a new studio construction video I've posted it here on this forum, and there are 8 parts now, not just 5. http://johnlsayers.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=6544 You can also go to youtube and search for "sonicclang" or http://youtube.com/profile?user=sonicclang There's over an hour of video if you watch through them all, so it'll probably take you a couple sittings if you want to watch them all. I'd at least recommend watching part 1 before any others, just so you know a little about us.
congrats, SC!
That's so awesome!!! 8) 8) 8) Color photos even! Man, I'll bet you wish that window had been all framed up in time for the shoot, eh? ;-) --Keith
Yeah man, I was NOT expecting color photos. I look through that paper all the time, and I hardly ever see color photos. And yeah, I really wish I had the time to put up the trim work around the window, but if you knew how insanly busy I was the two weeks leading up to that interview, you'd think it's amazing I had it looking as good as it ended up looking. I even took a week off work so I could work and finish it up. I was literally working 20 minutes before the guy showed up. It was the most stressful time of my adult life, hands down. So yeah, when I look at the photos now, I have to remember that. When the guy contacted me about the studio, it was still a total construction zone... very messy, no paint, no mud, ceiling wasn't done... and when the guy showed up it looked pretty good.
