Thought I'd throw out a rough design for some input. . . I'm helping a friend do a really really budget build. I have to figure out what level of sound-proofing he's going to be able to afford.
Note: There's a beam and post in the room that I cannot move. I've incorporated them into the wall with the sliding door.
I have not modelled in bass traps in the tracking area yet.

BTW: Thank God for Google providing sketchup. . . this program rocks. I'm able to model all kinds of madness and fast!
