Hi all, first time poster here - I've been reading many posts and absorbing as much info as possible. I'm moving to new apartment in Brooklyn next Friday, and wanted to get some general suggestions as to set up.
I've attached a poor diagram, but basically I have 3 rooms separated by French doors - 14.5'x11', 11.5'x7.75', and 7.25'x7.75'. The ceilings are a little over 10' high. All of them are essentiall rectangular rooms with hardwood floors — this is a railroad apartment. There are two windows in the big room, and 2 windows in the kitchen.
I want one room to be a mixing room, one room as the tracking room, and one room as the bedroom. Off the top of my head, I was thinking of making the smallest room as my mixing room, the 2nd room as the tracking/rehearsing room, and the big room as my bedroom.
Basically, I'm wondering if a 7.25Lx7.75Wx10H room is way too small for a mixing room. I'm flexible as to how to set up, but the tracking room will have to be either of the two smaller rooms cause I'm facing a busy street — I have plans to cut out noise as much as possible from the street, but won't be enough when isolation is needed.
