Im looking to proof a 12 foot by 15 foot room floor to ceiling and am having a hard tme finding large amounts for reasonable prices. im looking for standard 1 to 4 inch wedge styled or pyramid any style other than egg carton. Im also looking for bass traps and corner fills and ceiling cover. Please send pics links anything to help me find large quantities of the stuff at low prices. Also please send me pictures if you have any of studio proofing projects you guys have tackled for inspiration =] thanks Aaron
[...deep breath...] #1. Start here: Read the BEFORE YOU POST READ THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! announcement. That's thirty (30) exclamation points... #2. There is no such thing as soundproofing foam. "Soundproofing foam" is akin to "crashproof bumpers." Anyone who sells "soundproofing foam" is a liar, a cheat, a criminal, and ought to be flogged in public, in the same square as snake oil salesmen. #3. You're asking people to "send you" pictures for inspiration? Ummmmm... Have you even looked at any of the threads here? I'm guessing not, as items #1 and #2 wouldn't have to be covered... All that you seek is here, but you have to devote some time to absorbing what is already laid out before you. We're not going to spoon-feed you. --Keith
perhaps i should rephrase my statement im looking for sound dampening foam reduce echo etc. and im looking to skip the middle man aka i dont want to go to guitar center and fork over a grand to cover one wall. Im looking for a link of some sort to a website or a company that can supply me with the foam even if i need to cut it myself now this may be already addresed in a previous post but it takes a simple copy and paste to share a link thanks again
I did copy and paste a link for you, and it's obvious by the lack of a location in your profile that you did not follow it. So I'll follow it and copy and paste a couple of points you need to be aware of.

No location, no answer. No attempt at providing room details, no answer. (If you try, and I need more, I'll ask.) The effort you put into your question(s), I will put into my answers. I'm sorry it has come to this, but it has. Bottom line is this - if you are willing to put in the effort, so am I. . . . Edit your profile to include your location. This is very important, because this is a worldwide resource, and as such, material costs and availability vary widely. For example, masonry is cheaper than gypsum in some parts of the globe, whereas it's the exact opposite in other regions. We're not asking for your address or credit card number, just a country will do.
Note that the above copy-and-paste does not absolve you of reading and following all of the items that are covered in that announcement. I'm not going to copy and paste all of them for you. I'm not trying to be rude, but we're here to help you help yourself, not to do all of your research for you. --Keith
fair enough ya ive just been putting way too many long hours getting stuck on corporate websites that wont supply the little guy so i got despereate hoping someone would have a quick fix easy link type thing...but perhaps i can ask you where you normally get your recording studio foam it'd be a good step in the right direction?
Step in the right direction? You are ignoring the requests.. why? Are you THAT stubborn? The quick and "easy" answer is, that you're barking up the wrong tree. That foam sucks in almost everyway. Search and read the site you'll learn alot. And it will most certainly be better than demanding an answer from someone while ignoring their requests. Thank you, please drive through.
You are being your own worst enemy. Forget everything you think you know about acoustics. It's probably wrong. You're so busy trying to get a source for the medicine you have prescribed yourself that you have neglected to diagnose the disease from which you think you are suffering. Get "stuck" here for a change. Study here a few hours every day for a week or more. You'll learn a lot if you let yourself. If you post back today or tomorrow, you're not reading and studying enough. ;-)
tht probably is the case thanks Aaron
