Hi all My studio ceiling is in need of repair. Currently there is a plasterboard ceiling with a void above. Suspended from this is a rockwool-type ceiling held in by long self tappers and 50mm plastic washers at the edges. Lighting is from two banks of 10 very 1970's dimmable lights in metal cans which blow regularly because the heat can't escape presumably. What I'd like to do is make the ceiling look a lot better, keep or improve the absorption, and make the lighting a bit more flexible and less prone to failure. What I am planning to do is install a ceiling grid below the platerboard, using ceiling tiles or semi rigid fibreglass wrapped in fabric cut to size. For lights, the plan is currently to install some fluoro lights on a switch and some track lighting in two banks to keep the two dimmers. The room is approximately 7.5m x 5.5m. Ceiling height to plasterboard is approximately 2.7m. Any thoughts or input would be appreciated. Cheers Mudrock
